The best skateboarding learning experience

Great Skate will work with your school to run skateboarding lessons where all levels are welcome. Whether a one-day experience or a curriculum PE programme delivered over a half term or term, your students will gain confidence, motivation, a positive mindset whilst having an awesome amount of fun. Great Skate provides everything you need to give your students an amazing experience. We bring the skateboards, helmets and protective knee, wrist and elbow pads for each student (for a group of up to 30). So you can enjoy watching your students grow and learn.

At Great Skate we believe there is so much more to skateboarding than just riding and doing tricks on a board. All our programmes have well-being and positive mindset activities and themes built in. So your students carry on their Ready - Shreddy - Growth attitude into every aspect of learning and life!

My personal passion for skateboarding drives everything I do when delivering to school groups. By going the extra mile, I have the satisfaction that everyone leaves knowing they did something amazing today.

Supervision to keep children safe

All Great Skate skateboard programmes are designed and led by a qualified teacher with up to date DBS, Safeguarding, Emergency First Aid and Skateboard GB coaching qualification.

Curriculum P.E. Skateboard Lessons:

Skateboarding covers the National Curriculum for PE by developing flexibility, strength, technique, control and balance. It is by nature an adventurous activity which challenges the individual. Skateboarders continually assess their performance and demonstrate progress during skate sessions and over time and always strive for their personal best. We break everything down into learnable chunks and help your students every step of the way!

What's included?

The package includes:

  • 6 or 12 skate afternoon PE lessons with a qualified coach at your school for up to 2 classes of 30 children
  • Hire of all equipment including safety gear for the lesson
  • A scheme of work with NC links and learning objectives for each lesson
  • Access to the Brilliant Boarder Curriculum PE Google Classroom content
  • A Brilliant Boarder certificate and sticker for each student
  • A free weekly after-school club (to run on the smae afternoon) for up to 15 participants

Enrichment and Reward Taster Experiences: A half or full day of skateboard taster sessions

Our enrichment days are a great introduction to skateboarding. We show your students the basics of balancing on a board and some simple balance tricks.

  • A 1/2 or full day of introductory skate sessions with a qualified coach at your school for up to 4 classes of 30 children
  • Hire of all equipment including safety gear for the lesson

Brilliant Boarders: well being and confidence coaching

This brand new programme is designed to help develop your students ‘bouncebackability’ when facing challenges on and off the skateboard.

During each session we will:

  • Start with a creative activity and discussion centred around a techniques for managing confidence and positivity
  • Have a simple warm up routine
  • Discuss the skateboarding objectives for the lesson and how we can use our positive thinking techniques to help us to achieve our objective
  • Have a break down and demonstration of the fundamentals of skateboarding 
  • Coaching and feedback so your students make maximum progress
  • Games and lots of fun
